Bratislava offers wide selection of alternatives where to stay. Several hotels inclusive some of them affiliated to worldwide chains are located in center of Bratislava or within 5 minutes travel time by taxi. Smaller local hotels are offering rooms in more distant city districts. There is currently no five star hotel according to Slovak hotel classification, anyhow few of the top hotels have the quality you can expect from a grand hotel. Very unique in Bratislava are the botels (boatels) or hotels on boats, you can find three of them on the Danube river bank. Students hostels serve for public in summer months, usually from mid June to mid September and are located all around Bratislava, several also close to center. All-year hostels have only limited beds capacity and cheap hotels usually offer better rates for their service. Best time to visit Bratislava is summer, therefore everybody is doing so and it is difficult to find a free place to stay in July and August in tourist and mid-range hotels. In spring and autumn many business travelers aim to Bratislava and it is not easy to get room on last moment in middle of the week. But at the weekends we have got some good deals for you. In winter the availability is usually better, but often one or two medium events in Bratislava at the same time change this rule quickly. Traditionally the New Years Eve period is very busy and the annual trade fair Coneco (one week in March or April) fills majority of Bratislava hotel rooms. |
